Pastoral Lessons From Quincy Acy: Baptism

Future pastors,

Allow Mr. Acy to teach you a few things about baptismal methods:

1. Dunk with confidence.  No one wants to be put under water by an insecure pastor.

2. Dunk with authority.  You are doing so in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. Catch and release, quickly.  No need to hold someone under water that long.

4. Smile after you dunk.  Remember, baptisms are a joyful act of worship.

About Doug Hankins

Although not a Christian in his youth, Doug came to believe in Jesus during his teenage years. When not playing sports or pastoring Doug is probably spending time with his wife, reading a good book, or drinking some hot tea. Doug's first book Dawson Trotman: In His Own Words is available wherever books are sold. You can follow Doug on twitter.
