Followship Part 3: Into The World

Here is the concluding sermon to my series on followship.  This one was a struggle for a couple of reasons.

  1. I was sick during the preaching and preparation.  I consider this the sermon equivalent of Michael Jordan’s flu game.
  2. Although I wanted this to be an edgier, more challenging sermon, I ultimately shaped it into an encouraging and practical sermon.  As I was praying through it, I sensed the Lord calling me to soften a bit since I had just been rather aggressive in the previous sermon.
  3. I was trying my hardest to preach a sermon under 40 minutes.  The previous two sermons were 51 minutes and 54 minutes respectively. I think I succeeded.  But it was tough.

About Doug Hankins

Although not a Christian in his youth, Doug came to believe in Jesus during his teenage years. When not playing sports or pastoring Doug is probably spending time with his wife, reading a good book, or drinking some hot tea. Doug's first book Dawson Trotman: In His Own Words is available wherever books are sold. You can follow Doug on twitter.
